This weekend and the next I am going to Christmas markets again. Here are some of the things I’ll bring along! I hope for lots of people, despite the covid-19 situation raging again these days.
I am at my first market! I have brought lots of plantdyed yarn, knitted hats and earwarmers. This market is with lots of others in the local handicrafts association, where we all work together and place things by category. I will be at 3 other markets the next month where I will be at my own table. Gonna be interesting!
Here is the result of last weekends dyeing at my cottage! All dyed with lichen and mushrooms that I’ve gathered myself. In total, 2225 grams of yarn. Most in 25 gram skeins. I am in love with the purple and magenta, my favourite colors. The lichen was in an airtight bucket for 4 months, with 2 parts water and 1 […]
The last months have been slow when it comes to crafting. Surgeries and summer and all that. But now it’s autumn! With beautiful colors, rainy days and the cold keeping me more indoors. So my inspiration is back! And so are the mushrooms! I love mushrooms. The taste, colors and wide variety they come in. And also the treasure hunt […]
This west was a test knit for Ciospy knits. It’s an awesome pattern! I fell in love with the graphic design, and immediately imagined it in bright colors! So that is what I made. This is intarsia, and at times it was tedious. I don’t love knitting intarsia, but I love the results! And small tricks, like yarn bobbins, help […]
My current project is going to be so comfy! The most cozy sweater ever. It has a fitting name, as it means “favourite sweater”. Can’t wait to finish it! I’m using 3 strands of yarn instead of 4. The pattern calls for 3 strands kid-silk and 1 strand DK weight, but instead of DK I’m using aran weight yarn, of […]
I love secret santa swaps! So when I found redditgifts, I was very pleased. For this current round I joined 2 swaps, one of them being gifts for pets. My giftee has two cats, and of course, I wanted to make something myself. So I made them two little kitty toys, which my cats (and dog) love. I also bought […]
I finally made socks! It’s not really my first pair, I actually made a pair of socks before. But they were super simple, worsted weight socks for a friend. These are the first ones I made for myself. And in fingering weight yarn, that was custom made for me in a swap on Ravelry! I have started a project with […]
Bunnymuff designs was looking for test knitters for one of her new designs in January. And when I saw them, I knew I had to make them! They had mushrooms on them! What could be more perfect than that for my mushroom-dyed yarn? They took a while to make, as I was sick for over a week, then the kids […]
I swear, I am knitting other stuff too. And I will post them! But first I need to show off these dog sweaters I’ve made, since I have been super late in updating my blog! I have at least 6 FO’s since last time. I made one very colorful, very visible sweatervest for Gin, because he got cold on the […]
I photographed all the handdyed yarn and added it to the “For sale” page! Here’s a little sneak peak of what’s there. Perfect as a present for yourself or another yarnlover you care about.
This year I took the step from dyeing with commercial dyes, to plant dyes. And that was so much fun, that I suddenly had a lot more yarn than I needed. Imagine that, huh? Strange. So, all these beautiful skeins are going into the shop! I just need to get the time to take photos of each one, and make […]
As I mentioned in my last post, I need those small, instant gratification projects from time to time. I found that the headband I made was so nice and cozy that I wanted another one! So I made one, just with thicker needles and a different twist. I love these little projects. And the kids wants some too! So I […]
I started this sweater in the end of August or early September. My bonus son wanted a teddy sweater, and that’s what he got!
I recently finished this lovely pair of mittens, which will be perfect for the cold, autumn days ahead! It was a test knit for Pinneguri, and the pattern was published today. Here is my Ravelry project for the mittens. The pattern name is “Vottene Ylva, storesøster”. I knitted the mittens in handspun, plantdyed yarn! The yarn is a natural gray […]
I try to never have more than one project on the needles at one time, except for my little “travel-shawl” that I bring along if I need something easy when traveling. So in other words, I am not really one of those knitters who have a ton of WIP’s! At least that’s what I’ve been telling myself. And then I […]
